Rangers Reserves travelled to Westhoughton to face a top of the table Lions.
With Rangers Reserves near the bottom of the table and Westhoughton Lions sitting top it was always going to be a stern challenge. With a couple of debutants and player returning from injury, the Reserves were able to field one of their strongest sides this season to mount a challenge on the Lions.
The game got off to the perfect start as Dan Munt, playing his second game, registered the first score of the match. The pacey centre beating his man to score his try, Josh Ogden missing the conversion. Shortly after Tyrone Chipchase scored to further extend the lead, Josh Ogden good with the conversion on this occasion.
Jonny Fullalove was next to score as he powered over, the Loose Forward playing his first game since March having suffered a serious knee injury. Josh Ogden unsuccessful with the conversion and that would be the last score of the first half

After half time the Lions struck back with a much needed try as Sam Pennington brought his side back into the game, well converted by Ryan Berry. Rangers
restored their lead as debutant Sam Stelmaszek scored on his first appearance with Josh Ogden adding the extras.
Sam Pennington once again brought his side back into the game as he pounced on a delicate kick through, with a successful conversion the game was back to 8 points and in the balance.
The game continued in the balance as the two sides traded tries with Jack Beck crashing over for the home side and Tyrone Chipchase completing his brace to give Rangers Reserves some breathing room.
Ultimately, the time beat the Lions comeback and Rangers Reserves picked up a hard fought two points.
