REPORT: Manchester Rangers v Chorley Panthers

Rangers secure NWML Trophy Quarter Final berth with convincing victory over Panthers

In what turned out to be a comfortable win for Rangers, it didn’t always look that way with Chorley starting the brighter of the two sides and controlling the early exchanges. Chorley scored first with a penalty goal before extending their lead through a converted try, Tyrone Chipchase hitting back from a Rangers set play bu Jordan Green unable to add the extras.

Chorley then further extended their lead before Rangers got ahead for the first time through tries from Dan Munt and Ben Steele, Green and Connor Winfield adding one goal a piece heading into half time.

HALF TIME: Manchester Rangers 16 – 12 Chorley Panthers

The second half belonged predominantly to the Rangers, though Chorley never stopped fighting to get back into the game. Rangers showed too much pace for a tiring Chorley pack as pace men Chipchase and Munt scored 5 more tries between them, either side of a Chorley consolation, to lock in the Rangers victory. Winfield kicked 3 more conversions whilst Green nailed his opportunity from the side line
