Manchester Rangers maintained top spot with a hard fought victory over a physical Chorley Panthers

Rangers made the trip up the M61 looking to pick up back to back wins and hold on to top spot in North West Mens League Division 2. Chorley came out firing and looked to spoil the Rangers hopes as they crossed the whitewash first when David Dale scooted over from close range, converted by Thomas Sharp. Rangers then hit back as Tyrone Chipchase showed his pace from the scrum to beat the Leyland defence on the outside, green converting from touch.

The remained of the first half saw two unconverted Josh Hill tries for Rangers whilst Chorley scored two of their own through Dale again and olivery Yates. Sharp converting 1 from 2.

Manchester soon hit back as Josh Hill continued his dominance at left centre, scoring his 3rd of the game easing through the Chorley right edger. Another touchline conversion from Jordan Green brought Rangers back within 2 points. A period of stalemate ensued until 8 minutes remaining when Rangers led for the first time in the game. Josh Hill once again crossing the whitewash to break the clubs record of most tries in a game and Rangers held on to pick up a vital 2 points.
