This Saturday brings the eagerly anticipated pre-season friendly between local rivals Manchester Rangers and Cadishead Rhinos. Both teams are well into the pre-season and are looking to set a marker down for the forthcoming North West Mens League season.
Last season saw Manchester Rangers walk away with the spoils in two hotly contested games, with only a 2 point and 4 point difference between the teams. Cadishead will surely remember these defeats and look to even the scores with a win over the Rangers side.
Manchester Rangers have strengthened over the off season and after some tough friendlies with Wigan Bulldogs and Oldham St Annes ‘A’ will be looking to put together a solid performance and blow away any final pre-season cobwebs.
Steve Molloy has a variety of options at his disposal and hotly contested competition for places should lead to some good performances this weekend.
Rangers Scrum Half, Nick Holt, said “This will be our last pre-season game and we are looking to put in to practice everything we have covered over the last few months of pre-season. The boys are buzzing and there’s plenty of competition for places so we all need to be at our best in order to secure our place in the squad.”
The game will kick off at 14:30 on Saturday 21st February at Cadishead Recreation Centre, Lord Street, Cadishead, M44 5EH.
