PREVIEW: Oldham St Annes v Manchester Rangers

Manchester Rangers face Oldham St Annes A for the third time in 2018 for a place in the NWML Trophy Final

Steve Jones breaks through against Wigan St Cuthberts

With one win piece heading into this weekends Trophy Semi Final clash, it looks to be shaping up for a fantastic game at Higginshaw Road, home of Oldham St Annes. Each team has picked up a win on the road against each other in 2018 and Rangers will be looking to continue that trend to secure the final berth next Saturday.

The two teams couldn’t be tighter together with Rangers in second place and Oldham in 3rd place in NWML Division 2 so it will be anyone’s game to win come Saturday.

Manchester Rangers Head Coach, Matt Valentine, spoke about the semi final clash

Oldham are a very talented side and they showed that at our place and were deserved winners on the night, it was one of the best displays we’ve had against us this year and we will need to be on top of our game if they play anything near to that on Saturday.

They have some key players who direct them round the park well and we will need to keep them quiet if we want to come away with the win. As long as we are proud in defence I know our attack will look after itself, no team has scored more points than us this year and it’s been a big feature of our season.
