West Bank Bears v Manchester Rangers

Manchester Rangers travel to Widnes on Saturday 6th June to face West Bank Bears. The reverse of this fixture took place on 20th May, Rangers taking the spoils on that occasion with a 32 – 26 victory.

The Rangers are heading in to this fixture on the back of winning three games on the spin, after some impressive performances in the last few weeks. It is clear that the Rangers are now starting to put together those consistent performances their early season form was crying out for.

Steve Molloy will be hoping that his charges can carry on this form this coming weekend, however he knows that West Bank are a formidable outfit and are sure to cause his side some problems.

Speaking on Monday, Molloy said;

“West Bank were our first official opponents at Manchester Regional Arena on what was a very successful night for the club both on and off the field.

“They have got some very good players and they are sure to be wanting to get us back for the defeat they tasted that night.

“It was a really close game, and it could have been won by either side. They showed some great spirit after going a man down to come back and make it a close game.

“I am expecting another close game this weekend, but more importantly I am expecting another solid performance from the lads.”

Molloy’s men are currently sat in fourth position in the North West Mens League after 8 rounds and are in the middle of an important run of fixtures. Two of the next three Rangers fixtures are against playoff rivals and wins over the next few weeks will be vital for the Etihad Campus based outfits ambitions of achieving a top four finish this season.

The clubs playing roster is enjoying an extremely strong period, with Manchester Rangers being able to also put out an ‘A’ side on two occasions over the last month. The ability to field two teams is yet another success story for the lofty Rangers and shows the continuing growth of the game in Manchester.
