Official Club Statement
Manchester Rangers Rugby League Football Club are pleased to announce that from the 2015 season, all of the clubs home fixtures will be played out of the Manchester Regional Arena, part of the Etihad campus.
The move to the Regional Arena, with a capacity of 6500, is an integral step in the development of both Manchester Rangers RLFC and of rugby league in the City of Manchester.
In recognition of the clubs growth over the past 2 years, and its move to the arena, the men’s senior team has rebranded from East Manchester Rangers ARLFC to Manchester Rangers RLFC.
The club wishes to thank Eastlands Trust (formerly Manchester Sports & Leisure Trust) and Manchester City Council for their continued support and the commitment demonstrated by not only partnering with the club to facilitate the move to the arena, but also for preparing the facility for Rugby League.
Club Chairman Phil Fitton said: “It is an historic day for Rugby League in the City of Manchester, we outlined our plans for a professional club in Manchester and over the last two years we have been working closely with numerous organisations to lay the foundations for this to happen. Manchester is a sporting hot bed and we believe Rugby League can thrive at a professional level within the City. We can’t thank Eastlands Trust and Manchester City Council enough for their ongoing support and guidance to aid us in our vision.”
The teams opening fixture at The Manchester Regional Arena is scheduled for Friday March 20th versus West Bank ARLFC, kick off 7:30PM. Entrance £2 adults and £1 Children/Concessions
