The outcome of the cancelled game from this weekend has been decided today by the North West Mens League management group. It has been decided that the game should be awarded to Widnes Tigers and they will receive the two competition points. The decision is based upon the fact that the pitch was not ready for play at the allocated kick off time and Manchester Rangers fully accept this decision.
The club is disappointed that an agreement to fulfil the fixture could not be reached but understands and accepts the reasoning behind not being able to replay the fixture. The delay to the game and subsequent failure to arrange a replay is not by fault of either club and Manchester Rangers accepts that a fair decision has been made in awarding Widnes Tigers the two competition points.
We would like to congratulate Widnes Tigers on their promotion and wish them the best of luck in future fixtures.

The decision has been taken to award the match to Widnes Tigers as a 24 0 for the following reasons;
- Widnes Tigers had travelled to the match and were ready to play at the agreed scheduled KO time.
- With play-offs scheduled for Saturday 23rd September the short turn around affects Mayfield and Chorley also.
- Widnes Tigers have stated for the last couple of seasons (at least) that they are unable to play fixtures midweek due to numbers working away through the week.
That being said, we would like to place on record our thanks to Manchester Rangers who undoubtedly will have made every effort to get the game on, on Saturday and for reasons beyond their control could not do so. We also appreciate the level of commitment shown by Manchester Rangers to try to rearrange the match for midweek- ultimately displaying a ‘let’s get the matches played’ attitude, which we should all be in the business of doing.
