Rangers travel to the Tigers in the Semi Final of the NWML Division 2 Play Offs
After a controversial fixture just the week prior, both times will be desperate to pick up the win and prove their point following last weekends events. Tigers, who picked up a default victory due to facility troubles, will be looking to prove that they deserved the win given to them last weekend. Rangers who agonisingly missed out on a title win by a technicality will need no motivation when they take on their Widnes counterparts.
Last time out Rangers triumphed after an early barrage from the Widnes side. Turning around a 22 point deficit, the Manchester side proved their class as they scored 32 unanswered points to take the game 42 – 32. Both sides know this game could go either way and will have to be at their very best to pick up the 2 points.
Rangers Head Coach, Steve Molloy, spoke about the fixture
We had a brief chat at the start of training this week about the circumstances of the previous fixture but after that we have moved on and got on with the job at hand. It’s agonising to miss out on winning the league in such a way and all the seasons hard work crumble but we’ve still got silverware to play for.
We’re incredibly focused on the game this week and we want to put in the performance that we know we are capable of to prove our point. We are missing a couple of players but I’m happy with the replacements we have brought in and it’s sure to be a cracking fixture. The lads are well capable of winning this game and we need to stick to our game plan and go about the game professionally.
